Looking to add value to your home?
The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Research Department has released their annual Remodeling Impact Report. In the 2018 report, they explain how homeowners will add value to their homes by taking care of their lawns and upgrading landscaping.
The report covers statistics such as the appeal each residential project is likely to have on buyers and the estimate homeowners can expect to recover on the cost of their outdoor residential projects. Seventy-four percent of REALTORS® said that their sellers complete a landscape program before trying to sell, and seventeen percent said that landscaping was a major factor in the selling of their house.
NAR says that the top five outdoor projects that appeal to home buyers are a new wood deck, tree care, overall landscape upgrade, landscape maintenance, and — the most appealing residential feature — standard lawn care service. Building curb appeal through your landscaping and lawn service is vital when trying to sell your home. In the real estate community, ninety-seven percent believe curb appeal is important to a potential buyer, and ninety-nine percent of Realtors® think curb appeal is a huge factor in attracting potential home buyers. NAR estimated that the cost in upgrading your landscape is $3,000 with a one hundred percent return on investment from the project.
